The Belgium-Luxembourg Economic Union (BLEU) was established in 1921 to coordinate monetary, economic and financial policies between Belgium and Luxembourg. The union allows the free movement of goods, services, capital, and labor between the two countries, fostering economic integration and cooperation. The 2 euro commemorative coin issued in 2005 celebrates the 10th anniversary of the use of the euro in Belgium and Luxembourg under the framework of the BLEU.
