500th Anniversary of the Russian State

In 1480 the Grand Duce Ivan III rebuffed to accept the dependency of Rus from the Tatar-Mongolians. In same year Khan Akhmat moved his forces against Moscow. The Russian forces in the battle on Ugra river on 8-12 October using artillery stopped the Tatar-Mongolians. Ivan III started negotiations with the enemy that led to the end of 240-year-old Tatar-Mongolian yoke.
