Description
The obverse
in the center – the Emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two-headed eagle designed by I.Bilibin, lower – the semicircular inscription – “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA) framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top – “ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ” (FIFTY RUBLES), at the bottom – the date “2000”, the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
The reverse
a runner with a torch in the hand, to the left – the figure “2000”, in the background – outlines of the Australian continent. At the top – the inscription in three lines: “XXVII ЛЕТНИЕ ОЛИМПИЙСКИЕ ИГРЫ” (THE XXVIIth SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES), at the bottom – a kangaroo and the inscription: “СИДНЕЙ” (SYDNEY) divided by a horizontal line.
